About this talk

Words can heal and words can cause damage. In this lecture the use of words will be discussed and how simple techniques can be used to undergo medical procedures in a positive and comfortable way. With words we can make experiences. These can be both positive and negative experiences. A hypnotherapist knows this like no other. Awareness of the use of words, not only in your own hypnotherapy practice, but also by educating people you meet both privately and in your work about the power of words can make a difference. In this lecture we will present examples from medical practice and explain how a number of hospitals already work with other ways of communicating with patients before and during medical treatment.

Topics:

Working of pain mechanism Words in a medical setting The use of negative words (video) The use of positive words (video) Practical examples

The mentioned video’s are shot in the hospital by a doctor and nurses as an example what to say and what not to say.
